Only Because

And Christ himself is the means by which our sins are forgiven, and not our sins only, but also the sins of everyone. 1 John 2:2

It is interesting to think that all sins are forgiven. If we don’t acknowledge Christ as our Savior and receive that forgiveness, it’s like walking around with an uncashed check. It is only because we receive forgiveness that we can live differently.

We often judge people for their sin. We judge the sins we can see – like drugs, alcohol, and promiscuity. The rumors that we hear, we take is fact. Yet as Christians, we need to show everyone God’s grace and forgiveness. Our sins are forgiven and although maybe their sins are different than ours, our sin still separated us from God. It is only by accepting Jesus that our fate is different from those still living blind to their own sin. We have a duty to spread the gospel and help others receive His forgiveness.

Lord thank You for helping me see the need for salvation. It is only because of what Jesus did on the cross that I am free from the weight of my sins. Help me to point others to you.
