Cancelled

he canceled the unfavorable record of our debts with its binding rules and did away with it completely by nailing it to the cross. Colossians 2:14

I spent many years holding on to the record of my sin, despite God canceling it. I tried to carry the penalty even though the penalty had been knelt at the cross; hoping that somehow my works would convince God that I was somehow worthy of his love and forgiveness. But he canceled my sin on the cross. He said there is nothing that you can do, but my son will do it all. He did away with all the rules of penance completely at the cross.

What would happen if I truly lived like he canceled my debts?

What if I stopped trying to be enough and realized he was enough?

What if I stop trying to pick up the weight of the cross and recognize he did away with it completely?

He cancelled it all! It really is finished.
