His Presence

“Then the cloud covered the Tent and the dazzling light of the Lord’s presence filled it. Because of this, Moses could not go into the Tent. The Israelites moved their camp to another place only when the cloud lifted from the Tent.” Exodus‬ ‭40‬:‭34‬-‭36‬ ‭

As I read this passage, I see it as a foreshadowing to the Day of Pentecost. The Lord’s presence filled the Tent, just as Holy Spirit fell on the the 120 in the upper room. As follower’s of Christ we also host the presence of Holy Spirit.

Just as the Israelites did not move until God’s presence left a place, we are called to follow Holy Spirit when we move. While there is not a physical cloud and dazzling light that we can see, we can focus on His presence and know if we are following Holy Spirit. We will feel the peace that transcends our understanding when we allow Him to direct us.

Lord, I thank You for Your presence in my life. Thank You that I am the temple of Holy Spirit and that You are the One that will lead if I follow. You direct my paths. In Jesus name. Amen.
