Give Us Sight

Two blind men who were sitting by the road heard that Jesus was passing by, so they began to shout, “Son of David! Have mercy on us, sir!” The crowd scolded them and told them to be quiet. But they shouted even more loudly, “Son of David! Have mercy on us, sir!” Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked them. “Sir,” they answered, “we want you to give us our sight!” Jesus had pity on them and touched their eyes; at once they were able to see, and they followed him.”
Matthew‬ ‭20‬:‭30‬-‭34‬ ‭

As I wrote out this Scripture, I immediately thought of how the Church has sat idle and quiet as God was taken out of our schools, government and society over the years. How when the world said “Be quiet!”, the Church for the most part did. We let these massive changes occur without continuing to cry out.

Now we are decades later crying out “Lord, Give us sight!” As we begin to recognize what our silence and inaction has cost our society. We are more likely now to find fentanyl in our classrooms than a Bible or prayer. Millions of babies have been slaughtered in the womb. Now babies can even be legally killed after birth by the neglect of staff in some states. Our government operates in its own interest instead of doing what is right for the people. There is moral corruption at the highest level of our government.

We are beginning to see what our silence and sitting back has cost. There is a decline in relationships with the Lord and church attendance.. Our younger generations are not seeking God for themselves.

We need to begin to cry out and not be deterred for our nation, our schools, our government, and our children. We need to repent for not doing it sooner. We need to repent for not tarrying in His presence until the yoke of Satan is broken off our nation.

Prayer – Lord, I cry out to You, Have mercy on our nation. We need a touch from You. We repent from sitting silent as You were removed from our schools, government and prominent places in our society. The results have cost us in so many ways. Lord, give us sight to see what You would have us do now. Despite our past failures, we know greater is He within us than the spirits of this world. Give us renewed sight and vision to push back the gates of hell in this country. In Jesus ne, Amen.
