Fight my Battles

Moses answered, “Don’t be afraid! Stand your ground, and you will see what the Lord will do to save you today; you will never see these Egyptians again. The Lord will fight for you, and all you have to do is keep still.” Exodus 14:13-14

Learning that I can let the Lord fight my battles has been a process. I admit there are times I still engage knowing I shouldn’t. I admit sometimes I like a good debate that some would say borders on fighting. God has taught me how to stand still over the years and let Him fight my battles.

I have seen Him fight battles in my marriage. My marriage probably took me the longest to listen to Him. When I finally stepped out of His way and just stood in Him, I began to see progress in my marriage. Progress in ways that years of fighting my own battle and doing my own thing never accomplished.

I saw Him defend me when I lost my job. I was geared up for the fight. Instead He took me back to the basics and stood in Him. I let Him fight my battle and in doing so, I learned to draw closer to Him than I ever had and learned the value of letting Him fight my battles.

I admit, it is hard to sit still when you feel like you’re under attack. It is hard to trust Someone that you cannot see. It is hard not to know His battle plan. You have to believe that that unseen person is going to make a bad situation turn out for your good. It is hard to sit still when you feel the pressure bearing down on you. What I have learned is that we don’t have to be afraid. We are secure in Him. We just need to stand our ground and see what the Lord will do.

Prayer – Lord, thank you for teaching me to stand still. I love what you fighting for my marriage has done for us since I stopped fighting in my marriage. Thank you for fighting my battles. To continue to release them to you in Jesus name amen
