We Cannot Understand

We cannot understand the great things he does, and to his miracles there is no end. Job 9:10

I believe that one day we will be able to see the miracles that God did that we didn’t recognize. We look for the big things like healing, provision, but what about the protection from things we don’t see, what about the prevention of things that could have occurred? Do we take the time to stop and consider that they are miracles too?

We can’t possibly understand all the things that are preventative. It is a different concept than the world that we live in that prefers treatment and solutions over preventing problems. We can’t understand all that He does, especially since we can’t see these things in the moment.

I think back on my life over those “unanswered prayers,” where God really said “no” or “wait.” The answers that ended up preventing bigger issues. For example as a teenager, I thought I should be with my daughter’s dad. On the surface, in that moment, he would have appeared to be the right choice. And I was willing to let go of a relationship that God intended for me to make the relationship I thought I wanted to happen. Even though that relationship was unhealthy.

Looking back, I’m glad that God kept that relationship from happening because my thinking was too short sighted. God knew what I needed and that my husband would teach me the lessons I needed to learn. He knew the road my ex boyfriend was going on would not lead me to be the woman that God created me to be.

Those are miracles that we aren’t generally be able to see as they happen. We don’t see the process of miracles that prevent things. We can sometimes take a look back we can see God’s hand, but His miracles never end.

Lord, I thank You for Your mighty miracles. I will never understand all the great things that You have done for me and through me. I will never comprehend all that You have kept me from. I am grateful that Your ways are higher than my ways and that Your miracles never end. I praise You Father. I praise You for the miracles I know about and those that I will one day learn about. I thank You that You always know what is best for me!
