Influenced

“So be careful to obey and do everything that is written in the book of the Law of Moses. Do not neglect any part of it, and then you will not associate with these peoples left among you or speak the names of their gods or use those names in taking vows or worship those gods or bow down to them. Instead, be faithful to the Lord, as you have been till now.” ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭23‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭

The Israelites were told to kill the majority of the people that were in the promised land, but they didn’t. The Lord had to remind them not to be influenced by the ways of the world.

It can be really hard not to succumb to the influence of the world that we are surrounded by. The Bible tells us “Do not be fooled. “Bad companions ruin good character.”” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭33‬. Yet we are also told, and given the example to be in the world, not of the world. “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.” ‭‭John‬ ‭17‬:‭15‬ ‭So how do we accomplish this?

We are to be influenced by the Word of God. We are to obey it completely. With His influence, God calls us to be influencers to the world around us.
