So when I came to you, I was weak and trembled all over with fear, and my teaching and message were not delivered with skillful words of human wisdom, but with convincing proof of the power of God’s Spirit. Your faith, then, does not rest on human wisdom but on God’s power. 1 Corinthians 2:3-5
I have been worried about my own ability this weekend. Questions abound on if I know what I am doing because I am not a marketer or a networker. I am an introvert. In counseling you don’t ask for testimonies, that breaks confidentiality. I know that God knows what HE is doing. Jesus did not publicize His ministry. In fact, He often said “tell no one.” God changed the world through disciples that were not the “cream of the crop.”
Paul knew it was not him, but the direction of Holy Spirit that would guide and direct his ministry. It was Holy Spirit in him that provided the effectiveness of his ministry. Just a Jesus was led by Holy Spirit. I want to have the same confidence as I move forward that it is Holy Spirit not me that is guiding and directing my ministry.
Prayer – Lord, forgive me for often returning the focus to me. This is all about You, I need to keep my focus on You and off me. Your way. Your will. Your plans. Your timing. My obedience.
