The Land

Before I moved to New Mexico and then the first year I was here, I spent a lot of time praying about New Mexico as a state. Recently I highlighted some scriptures about righteousness. But as I looked at them to journal and blog about, it was the land that stuck out to me.

The righteous will possess the land and live in it forever. Psalm 37:29

Righteous people—people of integrity—will live in this land of ours. Proverbs 2:21

Righteous people will always have security, but the wicked will not survive in the land. Proverbs 10:30

I know these scriptures were written about the people of Israel, promises to their people. I believe that God shared the promises so that we could also claim them and because we are grafted into the family of God. Also God is no respecter of persons. We can stand on these promises for New Mexico and the United States. And for your area wherever you might be reading this.

The church will possess the land. We have to stand up and take back the territory that we gave up in silence. Even as I wrote the words, I felt like the church I attend will possess the land. As we look for a bigger space for the growing congregation, we will get the land.

In order to stand on this promise, we need to be a people of integrity, behaving ethically, and doing the right things even behind closed doors. These are areas that I pray for not only the church and the church leaders but also the government leaders, for schools, cities, counties, states, and nations. We need integrity in this world.

I like the idea of living in security, but even more that the wicked will not survive. I wish no ill on the wicked, only a change of heart. If they are not wicked anymore, then they will be able to survive. I would love to see a world with no more wickedness.

Prayer – Lord I pray that You would help Your people to rise and take back the territory You gave us that we relinquished in silence. We repent and want to take it back for Your kingdom. Lord, I pray that Your Church, that every single person, would walk in integrity. I pray for integrity in our schools, our local city, our county government, for integrity in our state, in each nation within this state, and for our national leaders. Lord keep us secure and in possession of what You gave this nation. I also pray for the building that we need at Freedom Worship Center.
