Steadfast, Immovable, Always Abounding

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58

When God calls us to something, He assures us it won’t be in vain. He does not say it will be easy, but encourages us to be immovable, steadfast, and abounding in our work.

This often is a struggle for me. It is easy for me to start most work, but even with God’s work, if it gets too predictable, I get bored. I find it too easy to just stop and leave things unfinished. It’s easy for me to blame attention deficit disorder but that is not what God will receive. He will empower me if I would allow Him to and not make excuses based on a diagnosis.

Lord I ask for Your help at being immovable, steadfast and abounding in the work that You have called me to. I know Kingdom work is never in vain. If You have called me to You will help me do through it.
