Renewed

and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, Ephesians 4:23

Our minds have to be re-established in Christ. Sometimes we want a one and done change, but after 38 years of being a Christian, I see there are still things that my mind is being renewed too. I believe God reveals things to us as we are ready to put them into action, not just at salvation.

His influence over me is only of great as my level of obedience and surrender to Him. And so at each level I have to have my mind renewed, I have to choose to let Him transform the way I think. And have to let Him transform the way I see things, this changes as He brings new revelation in my life.

It’s an active process where both Holy Spirit and I have a role to play. I have to discipline myself to allow Holy Spirit to do the work in me. I have to learn to practice patience and self discipline, obeying what He has called me to do, faithfully. Each time I develop His habits in my life, He trust me with more; He begins to reveal things at a deeper level.

I think about my childhood prayers versus prayers that I now pray. They are very different and yet also the same because God is the same. I have learned to ask through the Word and faith. I am not just believing for things and needs. My mind is being renewed to the things God wants to bring about through me in agreement with His Word.

Lord, let me establish a life of renewing the spirit of my mind in You Take me deeper than mind is today and bring be deeper in You each and ever day.
