Intention in Growth

So then, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to walk in him, being rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing with gratitude. Colossians 2:6-7

In order to be built up in Christ our roots have to run deep and wide. The higher we go in Him the more secure our foundation must be. Our character has to be able to handle what He produces or pride can creep in and sin begin to erode what He has established.

This means walking with Him daily. Being in the Word, prayer, and fellowship with encouragement and accountability. It means being established in our faith by hearing the Word. We stir up our faith as we remember what God has done and what God has brought us through in the past.

Walking with Him daily means setting under sound Biblical teaching. Learning from what God has revealed to those around us and who He is placed over us. it means walking in Thanksgiving, being grateful in the moment for what God is doing.

We have received His salvation, it was a free gift. Growth takes intentional effort on our part. Time with Him daily, building up our faith, sitting under godly teaching and being thankful for who He is and all that He has done and is doing for us. That will help our roots grow deep and wide as He builds us up.

Lord I want to be rooted and grounded in you help me to be intentional in doing my part. I pray that each of my family and my church family also be intentional to grow in You. Lord and bless my children and grandchildren, nieces, spouse, nephews, cousins, siblings and in-laws with a deeper walk with You and the desire to be intentional in pursuing You. I love You and give You a glory and honor amen!
