Facing Trials

By your endurance you will gain your lives. Luke 21:19

Prior to this scripture, Jesus was telling His disciples what would be coming. He encouraged them not to be led astray, that many would claim to be Him. He warned that there would be war, disturbances, and that nations and kingdoms would rise against each other. He warned there would be earthquakes, famines, plagues, terrors, and signs from heaven. He warned that there would be persecution, imprisonment, families turning against each other, even to the point of death. He warned that others would hate them. The nHe said “If they endure through those things, they will be saved”.

As Christians, we are going to face trials and tribulations. Going through them, it is important to remember we are not alone. With Holy Spirit within us we have the guarantee that we will either get through things or we will be for eternity in Heaven with Christ. We are overcomers. The question is in the process, will we walk in faith or defeat? Will we grumble and complain or will we give praise and glorify God through it all? Will we focus on the circumstances or will we keep our focus on God? Will we isolate or will we draw support from those who will lift us up and encourage us through those times? The choices ours. We will get through the trial.

Lord I want to walk through trials that are coming with my focus on You. I know that You have already overcome and Your spirit lives in me. Help me to keep my focus on You!
