Enduring in Prayer

praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, Ephesians 6:18

Although this scripture wasn’t repeated in my Bible study today, it has been the common theme. Enduring in prayer. I remember while I was dating, I always looked forward to talking to my boyfriend. We currently are the bride of Christ and He longs to talk with us every time we have a chance. Yes, God wants quality time but even the quick drive by prayers let Him know we are thinking of Him.

Praying for others and continually lifting up our brothers and sisters is so important. We will never know all that others are facing, so when God brings someone to mind we can always pause and pray for them. God knows their need. When He leads us we can let them know we are praying for them or that we were thinking of them. There is nothing too big or too small for God to answer so we can take everything to God. Sometimes the answer will be “yes”, sometimes it’ll be “no” or “wait”. And other times it may be “you decide”. Just like my husband doesn’t really care if I wear red or blue unless there’s a specific reason, God gives that decision back to us. It is just nice for Him to be included in activities of everyday living.

Lord I know I am not always consistent in prayer. But I long for deeper talks with You. I want to be consistent in continual prayer because I understand that prayer changes things. Prayer meets needs I don’t even know about. I want to spend more time praying in the Spirit, in the natural and corporately. Lord remind me that with You every moment can be holy and every ground can be sacred. I just need to invite You there.
