Conditions

So, brothers, in whatever condition each was called, there let him remain with God. 1 Corinthians 7:24

Paul was answering all the questions about who should remain a servant or be circumcised after coming into relationship with Christ. He was telling them that right where they were was OK. Whatever your condition, you can be in relationship with God. From the beginning of the church, people were creating barriers to relationship with God.

Ultimately God accepts me as I am, but He loves me enough to not leave me there. If God wants something off my life, He will remove it in His timing. He will bring the conviction, the correction, and the path to leave those things behind. Until then men’s rules are not bigger than God’s grace.

Lord, help me not to present a stumbling block to others by telling them what conditions they need to meet for You. Help me to be a guide not a ruler.
