So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12
So often I am wanting others to do something to me, to treat me as belonging and yet am I willing to do it?
I want to be invited, but do I invite?
I want to be included, but do I include?
I want to be loved, but do I love?
I want to be acknowledged, but do I acknowledge others?
I want to be see, yet do I take time to really see others?
I want to be cared for, but do I take time to care for others?
This was a passage shared by a new believer as he gave his testimony. I had to look it up because the verse wasn’t one I knew based on the reference. It’s called the golden rule. The world knows it, but do we really do it? The past two years our country has been so divided. Sweat on so many issues, we have stopped treating others as we want to be treated. We have started treating those with a different opinion as enemies. It has to start on the individual level to bring about change. It has to start with me.
Lord, help me to treat others as I want to be treated. To see others through your eyes and to treat them as I would treat you!
