Baptism

“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.” Matthew 3:11-12

We are called to be baptized with water,Holy Spirit, and fire. Water represents the cleansing of our sin, the new man in Christ is risen. Holy Spirit fills us, empowering us to live for Christ. Fire if we allowed, He will burn up everything that is chaff, that is no longer needed in our life. Often, I find He is trying to use the winnowing fork in my life and I’m gasping tight to those things that He wants to remove and burn up.

Lord, I have been baptized with water and Holy Spirit. YI pray Your fire burn up everything in me that is not of You.
