Confess and Forsake

Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper,
    but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy. Proverbs 28:13

I can’t help but feel God is trying to speak something to me. Today Pastor Ness preached other scriptures along the same line. He talked about how we let sin set us adrift. Sin keeps us in a works based mentality unless we confess it. But when we do confess our sin, God immediately receives us back to Him.

I don’t feel like I have any unconfessed sin in my life, but maybe I’m deceiving myself. Maybe I’m in some works based mentality and don’t realize it.

Lord, reveal my transgressions. Clean me so I can confess and forsake any transgressions. I don’t want anything to stand between us.
