Awakened

But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, or anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,

“Awake, O sleeper,
    and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.” Ephesians 5:13-14

I love sleep, but when the light starts shining, I am wide awake with the exception of a Sunday afternoon nap. I want Christ to awaken me and shine His light on, in, and through me. I need to fulfill His plans for me on this earth. I feel like I’ve walked through much of my Christian walk asleep. I haven’t done when I felt I should. There are directions I clearly heard to take, words to speak, words to write, actions to take. I slept through it. I pray that God’s grace covers those that I should have reached and brings opportunities back to me now that I am awakened. Although I need His rest, I will stay awake to His voice.

Lord, thank you for your light, exposing the darkness in my life. The light revealing the path before me. Thank you for giving me external rub to wake my happy butt up. Lord I want to be obedient to your voice. I don’t want to miss anymore opportunities.
