One Step

do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

My word for this year is “stepping out”. In this move to New Mexico I’ve been surprised at the peace I have felt. I realize I have just taken it one day or one step at a time. I didn’t try to do everything. When Tim left to come out here, I just kept busy one day at a time. He found a place and I started looking around for resources but not anxiously. I came to visit and when I returned I started packing.

I had the time with family for the holidays and then I started to prepare for the move. Even the day of the move I did not worry as I got tired. I let Tim know we would have to stop sooner than planned. When we arrived the unloading went smoothly. We returned the truck and then I started to unpack, even that went smoothly. Today ends are 14th day of quarantine required by the state. We took a drive and then it snowed on the way home. Tomorrow I hope to go to church but if the weather doesn’t permit, I know options are available. God’s got me. I have to listen for the next step. whether it is to turn left, keep going, eat this, watch this. God will guide me if I just take this step.

Lord, I definitely have no idea what the future holds, but I know You hold the future. Thank You for the peace I feel in my heart and how you have guided me thus far. I want to hear Your voice clearly and obey swiftly. In Jesus name Amen
