“When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.” John 16:21-22
I can remember as I carried my children there were days leading up to delivery that I was so miserable. I was ready for the delivery. Following the delivery, I forgot all about that desire. I forgot about the misery ai had been in before.
I believe that it is a reminder that the things we go through today will not last. There are things that I have walked though that unless I am reminded of it, since I am no longer in the trenches I have forgotten about. I don’t think about the trial, I focus more on the outcome that finally came.
Prayer – Lord, let my focus be on Your finished work. Behind every difficulty is a blessing and gift or a lesson for the future. Even as I walk through these difficult days remind me Lord.
