“Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”” Matthew 19:21
We can not put the things in this earth before Christ. Everything we have comes from Him. It belongs to Him. We must be willing to give it all away to follow Him.
It is the willing act of meeting the needs of the poor, orphans and widows that produces the treasure. He is not moved by what we possess. It is our obedience and the act of putting Him first that He wants.
Prayer – Lord, I know I don’t always put You first. My desire is to be in a place where I do. Help me to trust You and obey You. I know there is no other way.
