Count it all joy

Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant,    make many to be accounted righteous,    and he shall bear their iniquities.  Isaiah 53:11

Jesus counted it joy, the anguish that was set before Him. He was satisfied to be give His righteousness to us and become our sin. He bore our iniquities.

Writing that just does something to me. I often help people in their iniquities. I don’t count it a joy helping until they are able to move forward changing their lives for their betterment. But Jesus counted it joy even knowing we had free will to trample on His sacrifice.

I get anguish in my soul when I feel like I am working harder than the person I want to help. Jesus did it all for me, for each of us. That is humbling as a helper who at times just gets peopled out. Jesus never got peopled out. I think He practiced self care, retreating to the mountains for alone time with the Father, but HE always made room when people showed up.

Prayer – Lord, thank You for bearing my inequities, for letting it be counted among Your righteousness. Thank you for being satisfied in Your soul to redeem and restore me to God. I am in awe of Your love.
