Turn from Darkness

to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me. Acts 26:18

Overcoming darkness is another theme I have been running into lately. I shared a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.” Then the lesson today from my devotional was called “Awaken the Dawn.” Jonathan Cahn wrote “It isn’t dark because it’s night time. It is night time because it is dark. God is light. So when you turn away from God, you create the night! when you turn away from His presence, night comes into your life. When you turn away from His love, darkness comes into your heart. You end up dwelling in your own shadow, in the shadow of your turning.“

I don’t like the dark, except when I am sleeping. I don’t like it in the natural or in the spiritual. I certainly don’t want to be responsible for seeing it. I know that if I don’t keep my face towards God that it is easy for the darkness to creep in.

I am called to be a light in the world. A light that can turn others towards God, to turn them away from the enemy, the darkness that surrounds them. I cam called to lead them to the forgiveness that is already available to them.

Prayer – Lord, I pray for those in my sphere if influence that You would open their eyes to turn from darkness to Light. I pray that they would each and all turn from the power of Satan to the true source of power, God. I pray that each one would receive Your complete forgiveness of their sins and sanctify themselves to You as well as Your plans and purpose for their individual and corporate lives.
