The Light

For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6

As Christians, we reflect Jesus Christ to the world. When we allow Him to shine through us we are bringing the knowledge of a glory of God to the world around us. God brought the light in the beginning of the world. He brought light back at the resurrection of Christ. He put that Light within each of us the day he sealed us with His presence. It is not for our glory but for His. It is His light in us that others see. We are His light shining in the darkness.

Prayer – Lord, I have not always done a good job of stewarding Your light. I have not always submitted to Holy Spirit within me. Stopping to listen to Your still small voice, to let Your light shine, can be difficult in the noisy world around me. I know that You have equipped me to be Your light, let it shine brightly in me. This is the desire of my heart that I request of You. Give me that desire according to Your word.
