Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. Ephesians 5:6-8
There are so many empty words being shared lately. They bring confusion and chaos. They deceive the masses and are a root of disobedience to the things of God in this world.
I have been wearing this face mask due to COVID-19 that has Ruth Bader Ginsburg on it. It also has a quote on it that says “women should be in all places where decisions are being made.” I don’t agree with Ruth Bader Ginsburg on every case she has ruled over or argued; however, I have seen her as a woman role model. She has many great accomplishments and struggled to make it. I realize I must be careful as some might interpret that esteem as partnering with her in all decisions.
The other thing that caught my attention, is this verse doesn’t say “you were in darkness” it says “you were darkness”. God didn’t deliver me from darkness but I was part of the darkness. It was my being before I became light. Light that can only come from the Light of the World, who lives within me. I have known I am light to the world but I never considered I was darkness. I must walk as light, even when I am surrounded by others who are the darkness.
Prayer – Lord I am not darkness. I am light. Let me walk as Your light.
