My Part, His Faithfulness

“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; Deuteronomy 7:9

My job is to love God. My job is to keep His commandments. I can trust when I do my part that God is faithful to keep His promises and covenants. God is love so His love is faithful too. His mercy is new every morning.

In order to me to love Him, I have to receive His love.

We love Him because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19

In order for me to keep His commands, I have to know them.

My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands; Proverbs 3:1

I also need to know His promises and covenants if I want to be able to stand on them and know He will keep them.

This is a faithful saying:

For if we died with Him,
We shall also live with Him.
If we endure,
We shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him,
He also will deny us.
If we are faithless,
He remains faithful;
He cannot deny Himself.

2 Timothy 2:11-13

I can trust His love, because He is love.

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:8

I can receive His mercy, because it is new each day.

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
