to show the mercy promised to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant,
the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us
that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies,
might serve him without fear, Luke 1:72-74
Zachariah prophesied and in that he reminded of the promises of God, the covenant, the oath made with Abraham that they would be delivered and serve God without fear. I have never had God audibly tell me that a promise will happen like Abraham did, but I know that his word is filled with promises that I stand on knowing. Maybe I need to spend more time reminding him like Zachariah did. I’ve been sitting quiet in the waiting; maybe he is waiting on me to speak his promises into my own life.
Lord thank You for remembering Your promises. I remind You that whomever believes in the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved, him and his household. The unbelieving spouse is made holy by the believing spouse. For how do you know wife if you will save your husband? Lord I am reminding You of Your promise to give me the desire of my heart, a spouse that is saved and serves You wholeheartedly. Amen
