Because of Him

And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:30-31

Nothing we have to offer comes from us. It is all from the Lord. today, I was feeling accomplished at work. I started to text my lead and boast, she is always telling me to take credit for what I do, to brag on it; but that is not who I want to be. I find praise uncomfortable at times, especially when it is focused on something that I know God needs the credit for.

He has gifted me with talents and abilities but praise belongs to Him alone. If I have wisdom, it comes from Him. If I have righteousness it is only through Him. I know in and of myself I am not righteous, I am with me and my thoughts and feelings! He has set me a part, I know that I am nothing apart from Him. He redeemed me, I know where He brought me from, what He brought me from and it was a lot. His love for me and the price that He paid is the only reason I am here now. Glory be to Him alone, praise belongs to Him. My boast is only in Him!

Lord, thank You for choosing me and using me. I praise You and I boast in Your greatness. You are wise, thank You for the wisdom I have received. Thank You for making me righteous and taking my sin on Your Son. Thank You for sanctifying me apart from the world and back to You. Thank You for Your redemption. You are an awesome God!
