He Set Us Free

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

This passage goes along with another devotion I have been reading.

And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:28

Subdue means to bring under subjection. For too long we have allowed the world to subdue us as Christians instead of obeying God and subduing the Earth. Christ died so we would have freedom. He didn’t die so that we would be under the yoke of slavery of the world and its political correctness.

He set us free so that we can share Him and bring freedom to others. He set us free so we could be restored to him and bring restoration to others. He set us free so we could be reconciled to God and help others have reconciliation too. He set us free to release what He put inside of us, His Spirit, into the world around us and subdue the enemy of this world. He paid the price as the blood of the Lamb. It is up to us to share the word of our testimony.

Lord, let me walk in the jubilee You paid the price for me to have. I ask this not for my benefit but for the benefit of the world around me that You have called me to.
