Lifted up

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. John 3:14-15

Just as Moses had to make a serpent to save the people from the poisonous snake, God made Jesus become sin so that we could be saved from our sin. He became what we needed destroyed. He destroyed sin on the cross once and for all.

I have to believe, just like the Israelites. I have to believe and act on it just like they did. I have to look to Christ when I am feeling that sin has the upper hand. I have to look at Him and be reminded what I believe. To be reminded that He conquered sin! Sin’s power was finished on the cross. I can walk in freedom because He paid the price once and for all. I don’t have to live in condemnation for my past. It is finished. When I fail or I find another area that I haven’t surrendered previously, I can look to Jesus and believe that it is forgiven. It is finished.

Lord thank You that it is finished. I believe that You completed it on the cross. Help me remember to look to the finished work of a cross when I feel condemnation trying to rear its ugly head. You finished it all, there is no power on Earth or in hell that is stronger than You.
