But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. 1 Corinthian 15:10
The devotion I was reading today mentioned that Ananias was the first person that Paul saw after his conversion to Christ. The name Ananias means grace from God. God’s grace was the first thing Paul saw.
Grace is what I need to see first also, whether it is towards me or towards others. God’s grace must be first. It is only through His grace that I can see myself as He sees me. Not as the mistakes and failures but as His empowered child. It is when I look at God’s grace that I can see others as He sees them. I can see them as a treasured child of God. We all make mistakes. He gives us grace. If I can offer others His grace first, the world will be a better place.
Lord, let your grace be my first glance whether towards myself or towards others. Let me extend what you so freely give to myself and to others! Grace.
