Bitter fruit

Beware lest there be among you a man or woman or clan or tribe whose heart is turning away today from the Lord our God to go and serve the gods of those nations. Beware lest there be among you a root bearing poisonous and bitter fruit, Deuteronomy 29:18

It doesn’t take the whole body, but just a bitter root that is allowed to grow that can poison it all to make the fruit bitter. That is why it is so important that each believer be open to pruning and discipline. We don’t want to be the one that is the bad root or branch.

Lord, I can only be responsible for me. Don’t let any bitter root or poisons fruit come in my life. Lord, let me be a good ambassador for you.
