Reproach

So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood. Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured. Hebrews 13:12-13

Did He suffer outside the gate of the city as well as outside the temple? That is where division occurs within denominations. Christ suffer for our sins. He paid the ultimate price and we allow little things like this to bring in division. His blood should unify us, not cause us reproach with each other. Our reproach should be for the sin in out own life. Our reproach should be for the sin in the world.

Reproach is a defamation (such as Christ suffered for the cause of God) from enemies.

We spend so much time seeking the world’s and other believer’s approval that we miss what God wants. We can’t have the world’s approval, man’s approval if theirs is against the cause of God. We can’t defame His cause and have His approval.

Lord, where am I seeking man’s approval more than Yours? Where am I seeking man’s approval instead of Yours? Open my eyes to accept the reproach in order to further Your cause. Give me the boldness to share Your Kingdom.
