New Heart

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. Ezekiel 36:26-27

This scripture surprises me because usually there is so much talk about dying into the flesh. Here God says He will give us a new heart of flesh. I feel like the surprise is He will take our broken heart and hardened heart and fill it with a new spirit, His spirit. Our flesh heart will have experienced the good with the bad but as we let His spirit fill us, we can walk in His path of forgiveness, mercy, grace, peace, joy and righteousness. He will fill us with His love.

Lord help me to live and walk in Your statutes, obedient to You for You have given me a new spirit, Your spirit in my restored new flesh heart.
