Give An Account

Passage – They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 1 Peter 4:5

Restated in your own words – Everyone will give account to God, the living and the dead.

Application to your life – There are times I wonder if my behaviors stay in check not because of a change of heart, but because I know one day I will stand before God and give account with my life laid our before me. The good, the bad, without any justification. God won’t be fooled by my persuasive antidotes or sob stories. He will look at the action and the heart behind it. And I will have to give that account.

Your response back to God – Lord, when I stand before You to give account I want to know that my actions and behaviors aren’t due to fear but instead it was out of my love for You. I want everything I do and say to be a reflection of my relationship with You, not out of fear of what might happen.
