Fear God and Honor Authority

Passage –  Be respectful to all — keep loving the brotherhood, fearing God and honoring the emperor. 1 Peter 2:17

Restated in my own words – Be respectful to everyone, love your whole church family, fear God and honor those in authority.

Application to my own life – I have a reverent fear of God and I tried to obey, and honor those in authority. I do love the brethren, but maybe I don’t do an awesome job of showing it because I’m not in close relationship with other believers. Meant I don’t really know how to be in a relationship. New friendships I know my walls are still up as much as I want them to come down. I don’t know how to be in relationship that is more reciprocal. I think I’m starting to learn with Tim after 27 years. I still feel like I need to give, give, give even if it’s only of answers. I do love other people. Need to learn to show it in relationship and also be able to receive from them as well.

Your response back to GOd – Lord I still feel like I have so much to learn. I don’t know why I make relationships so hard. I need Your help with divine connections and help opening up. I thank You again for this opportunity to just be in Your beautiful creation. I thank You for opening job doors for Tim and that You are making yourself real to him. Help him to be the man that You created him to be! I love him but I know You love him even more. Bless him as You have blessed me. If you want me to win the lottery, guide me where to use it for Your glory and honor and the advancement of Your kingdom.
