Desires

Passage – Dear friends, I urge you as aliens and temporary residents not to give in to the desires of your old nature, which keep warring against you; 1 Peter 2:11

Restated in my own words – It’s important not to give in to the desires of the old nature which come against you.

Application to my life – There are times I wonder if I’m the only one who overcomes an area and then fills drawn back to it at times. This scripture tells me it will happen. Have to choose not to give them to that desire. I have to choose to go backwards and I really don’t want that.

Your response back to God – Lord thank You for Your Holy Spirit that empowers me first to overcome the fleshly desires and then helps me to continue not giving into it again. When the temptation comes let me stand in faith in all that You have done. I also come to You with more. Tim is looking for a job on day or second shift doing system engineer work with benefits and higher to company making at least $30-37 an hour with a stable local company. But I know that You are our provider, please grant him the desires of his heart and make yourself real to him and show him You care for him. Thank You for Your faithfulness and that we are in your hands. You have never failed us and that is where my confidence lies.
