His Mercy

Scripture: Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; before, you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2:10

How this Scripture applies to my life: Before I was a foreigner, I relate to that sentiment. Sometimes it’s easy to feel like I don’t belong. I can feel like a foreigner even in my own family, workplace, church, and group of friends. I often feel like an outsider. I feel like a guest that is tolerated at best.

But God made me His child, I am His people. I belong to Him. He is the place where I feel accepted, just as I am. I also feel loved enough for Him to challenge me in those areas that I need to change.

I have received God’s mercy. He lets me see glimpses of myself as He sees me. He reassures me that regardless of how I feel I can be secure in Him.

Expression of my heart and mind back to God: Lord, thank You for making me part of Your people and for allowing me to receive Your mercy. I love You.
