Stumble or Obey

Passage – also he is a stone that will make people stumble, a rock over which they will trip. They are stumbling at the Word, disobeying it — as had been planned. 1 Peter 2:8

Restated in my own words – People will have a hard time obeying the word, they will stumble and trip.

Application to my own life – God knew that the world would not be able to obey the word, that someone stumble and trip in disobedience. Some disobedience is accidental. We don’t know or understand what the Word says. Others are by choice disobeying.

I trip over things that are in my way. Laws I am not ready to follow. I stumble over things I don’t know exist or that I am deceived to. But God’s word will show me the path if I am willing to look, pursue and obey.

Your response back to God – Lord thank You for forgiveness, grace, and mercy when I trip. Thank You for Your knowledge, wisdom and discernment when I stumble. Keep my eyes to the path you lay.
