Bold Requests

Passage – But you are a chosen people, the King’s cohanim, a holy nation, a people for God to possess! Why? In order for you to declare the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

Restated in my own words – I declare the praises of the Lord who took me out of darkness bringing me into the glorious light. I am has chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, meant for God to possess.

Application to my life – I praise the Lord for I am His child. I can come boldly offering prayers of thanksgiving for all He has done for me. I can bring my praises for who He has revealed Himself to be in my life. I can bring my request to Him and know that He will hear me as He heard the praises, repentance, and atonements from the priest of old.

Jesus paid the price for me to come to the Father. He chose me before the foundation of the Earth. I am chosen. I am part of the Holy Nation that is possessed by God’s Holy Spirit. He dwells inside of me.

Those are truths that I rarely think about but in reality as I wrote them they flow from my inner being. I really do believe those things, not that I always act like I am, but I know I can. So the question is why don’t I always?

Your response back to God – Lord I praise You for who You are as Lord of my life. You are my Jehovah Rapha, You are healing to my body, mind, and spirit. You are Jehovah Nissi the banner over my family declaring we belong to You. You are my Jehovah Jirah, the provider of all my needs.

Today I come boldly come to Your throne on behalf of my husband. I pray that You make yourself real to him in a tangible way. Lord showed him that You are our provider and that You care about the desires of his heart. I admit I don’t always know what that is but You do. Lord I pray that You would strengthen and encourage him. I pray that You would open the doors for him to have the job that only You and he know would be his dream job. I pray that it will be a job with benefits and would be an increase in pay even taking full benefits would be the same take home pay he is making now. I pray that the hours would be what works best for his sleep cycle and that the location will be convenient to the new house that You have blessed us with.

I pray Lord that it be an environment that is conducive to growing Tim into the man that You designed him to be at a pace that would surprise both of us. Lord let Tim use the skills and abilities that You have placed in him for the glory of Your kingdom.

It would be an even bigger blessing for me if there would be a couple that we could connect with through this new opportunity that would bring social connection that is healthy and meaningful in our marriage relationship.

I lean not on anyone except You during this time and I am believing that there will be complete provision for all the expenses that we currently have outstanding with no lack. It will be for your glory and honor for this request is written to show that God alone meets our needs and gives us the desires of our heart.
