One Who Paid the Price

Passage – You should be aware that the ransom paid to free you from the worthless way of life which your fathers passed on to you did not consist of anything perishable like silver or gold; on the contrary, it was the costly bloody sacrificial death of the Messiah, as of a lamb without defect or spot. 1 Peter 1:18-19

Restated in my own words – The lifestyle that has been paid for by the blood of Christ, wasn’t free. It cost his spotless life.

Application to my life – As much as I think I was blessed to be introduced to Christ at a young age, the example laid for me was worthless. The only One that I need to look to is the only One who could pay the price. He paid the price for me and set the perfect example. He was the only One who could pay the price. If I only follow the example passed down, it is worthless. I must surrender to the life of Christ and allow him to live through me.

Your response back to God – Lord, it’s so easy for me to think I’m doing things right, but living life like the good parts of those who went before me is still worthless. I want to live in the full presence and power of the One who paid the price for me. Lord I want to live for You fully and completely.
