United With

Passage –  since he delivered us and called us to a life of holiness as his people. It was not because of our deeds, but because of his own purpose and the grace which he gave to us who are united with the Messiah Yeshua. He did this before the beginning of time, 2 Timothy 1:9

Restated in my own words – God delivered us and called us to a life of holiness as Christians. It possible as we unite with Christ. He made a way before the beginning of time. It is not our deeds but for His purpose and by His grace.

Application to my life – God didn’t deliver me just so I could make it to heaven. He had a plan and a purpose for my life before the beginning of time. His grace empowers me to live holy for Him as I walk united with Christ.

Too long I lived for my own self, thinking that being saved was enough. Even as God changed my life, I thought it was about me. It really is about Him. He has to do so much more work in my life so He can get past me so I can really walk in unity with Christ. That is the only way for me to get purposeful for His Kingdom.

Your response back to God – Lord, thank You for delivering me and for making it possible for me to live holy. I apologize for ever thinking it was about me. I ask You Lord to help me walk united with Christ in the purpose You have for me and in Your grace. In Jesus name amen.
