Foundations of Building

Passage – According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 1 Corinthians 3:10

Restated in my own words – With the Grace God gave me, I lay a foundation for others to build on. Or I build on foundations others have built. I am responsible for what I build, so I need to be careful.

Application to my life – I immediately thought of my children as I read this scripture but ultimately it can apply to anyone whose life I am given the opportunity to build upon. I am responsible for the workmanship I give to others. Ultimately God does the work but I am responsible for the words I speak or don’t speak. Responsible for the actions I take or that I don’t take. I have to take care of what I build in the life of others.

Your Response to God – Lord, I realize what an awesome position You have placed me in. Help me to be careful how I build foundations or expand on foundations. Give Your grace to show me what to do and to cover my errors in the lives of those I touch in Jesus name amen.
