Act, Love, Walk

Passage – Human being, you have already been told
what is good, what Adonai demands of you —
no more than to act justly, love grace
and walk in purity with your God. Micah 6:8

Restated in my own word- We know what the law requires. God wants us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and being. This really looks like acting justly, loving grace and walking righteously.

Application to life – Just is morally right or fair. I read this and after a week of conviction know I still fail. I am not under the law, I’m under grace empowered by the Spirit. I feel like God has been showing me a deeper level of moral living. He has shown me where I’ve been walking in darkness and calling it the gray area. He’s beginning to show me that gray is just the world’s way of justifying wrong behavior. I’m called to a higher standard than the world sets. The Holy Spirit gives me the grace to walk at a higher level. I have to love His grace enough to submit and let Him empower me to walk there. I need to let His righteousness be my path.

Your response back to God – Lord, I just ask You to help me be willing to be obedient as You take me to another level of living. I want to act justly by Your standard. I want to love grace by Your standard. I want to walk in the purity of Your righteousness. I know You have made this all available to me.
