Great Treasure

Scripture – Better a little with reverence for God than great treasure and trouble with it. Proverbs 15:16

Thoughts about what this scripture means – It is better to have a little with respect for God than to be rich and have troubles without Him.

Application to my life – Although I will buy a lottery ticket or go to the casino I know that God should not bless us with the big win because I am a divided house. Although Tim says it would be okay to give a lot with it, the reality of it might make more trouble. My desire would be to meet our needs, the needs of our family, the church and then the community. The reality is that much money splits families I saw it first hand with his great grandparents. Family is too important to lose over money.

Response back to God – Lord thank You for my little. It is more important for me to have You than it is to have great wealth. Thank You for blessing me as You do and thank You for Your favor and presence.
