Don’t Make Fun of Them

Scripture – Mocking the poor is mocking the God who made them. He will punish those who rejoice at others’ misfortunes. Proverbs 17:5

Thoughts about what this Scripture means – Don’t mock the poor, it is mocking God who made them. God will punish those who make light of other’s misfortune.

Application to my life – It’s easy to judge someone who lacks resources. I’ve done it. Why don’t they work? Why don’t they spend money differently? I am not mocking because it breaks my heart. I’ve been there. He told me to offer a hand of hope not just offer my opinion.

Response back to God – Lord there are many poor in the world. You would reveal Yourself to each of them and use others including myself to help meet their needs.
