Thoughts about what the scripture means – The poor are rich in faith and the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. God promises this gift to all who love Him.

Application to my life – To all those who love him, God gave this promise, so why does the verse focus on the poor? Maybe because they truly have to stand in faith for things? They can’t just buy their wishes and desires to make them materialize. So is their faith deeper? In areas where we are lacking, we have to believe more deeply because we can’t produce results on our own. The poor and spirit are blessed to receive the Kingdom of Heaven.

Reaction back to God – Lord I want to rest and depend on you for all things. I want not to stand on my own but to be poor and spirit that I may count on Uou at all times so your kingdom will be mine.
