Forsake

Scripture I have been young and now I am old. And in all my years I have never seen the Lord forsake a man who loves him; nor have I seen the children of the godly go hungry. Instead, the godly are able to be generous with their gifts and loans to others, and their children are a blessing. Psalm 37:25-26

Thoughts about what this Scripture means – God promises that those who love him he will never forsake. Will never grow hungry. They will have enough to meet their needs and the needs of their children.

Application to my life – Reading the scripture, I think back to the times of great struggle in my life. That I was far from God living on the fence or completely on the other side far from God. I can look back on the times where things were tough but gone provided. Then I think about the years of famine that the Israelites went through. It wasn’t God who wasn’t faithful, it was the people. There were remnants in the midst of that famine that were able to meet their needs. God is faithful. To be faithful to him. Loved him and are godly he will not leave us. Will provide for us. Forsake him, he is there with open arms waiting for us to come back.
