Shelter

Scripture – Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; Psalm 91:9-10

Thoughts about what this Scripture means – God has my refuge. Shelter me. Will not overtake nor will plague come near.

Application to my life – I love knowing I have a God I can go to with anything. I can go to Him with the goods, the bad, the sad, the happy, the beautiful, and the ugly. He is there. This life can be overwhelming, even in the good times, He is my refuge my shelter. He will not allow evil to overtake me. This means evil cannot overtake the world as long as believers are still here.

We have to choose to unite together to overcome evil. We have to take Him, bring him, and keep Him in those places we see evil. We cannot back down from evil in fear, God within us is bigger. We can bring the refuge there and confront it. God is bigger than evil that we face in this world. We cannot handle it, He can. The safest place we can be is in the will of God because if we are there He will be our shelter.

Response back to God – Lord the world’s problems are so much bigger than me. But I know You are bigger. You are my refuge and shelter. You are the place where I can go when it all feels overwhelming. I can gain insight and refreshment for my soul. I can get wisdom for the next steps and wisdom to keep evil overtaking me. God keep me in your perfect will! Amen!
